In 2010, the folks from Blackspade Acoustics in Switzerland contacted AMI to help with some microphone designs and potentially provide them with transformers.
Their goal was to produce quality microphones that could be sold at an affordable price in Europe. After
speaking with them, we collectively decided that it would be beneficial for both companies to work on a joint venture to build
and sell these microphones around the world, not just in Europe. With the introduction of the Blackspade UM17, as a team we are achieving this goal and expanding the product line with several new products to be released by the end
of summer 2011.
Blackspade Acoustics manages sales and distribution of these microphones in Europe,
the Middle East, Africa, Australia and Oceania. AMI manages sales and distribution in North America, South
